Video Store

We officially have 3 businesses we own. The collection agency, Dans Photograohy and our newest Patriot Video. We opened the video store Friday November 14. It is in Box Elder. The space was empty for 10 YEARS! It took alot of work but I think it will be worth it. Our sign guy had some problems abd had to re-do the signs. Hopefully we will have those up this week. Saturday November 22 we are leaving for a vacation. We are going to Traverse City, MI for a week. I know it sounds odd to leave a brand new business but I feel cofident in our employees. We NEED this vacation after the last few weeks. The blizzard ruined our camper and the insurance company will be picking it up soon. We kept it in such good shape that we are getting higher than the blue book which is nice. Next thing is we will be shopping for a new camper. Well enough of random nonsense, I will post pictures if I ever get time to.

Shopping

Avery wanted to let everyone know he got his first birthday present already. Today he got to go shopping with Grandpa Paul. He picked out a wrestling ring and miniature wrestlers. They ended their time together by eating and playing at Mcdonalds. Avery had his usual cheeseburger ketchup only happy meal. He will really miss Grandpa Paul and Grandma Alice while they are in Arizona for the winter.

The Dress

We started the night at the football game. The Douglas Patriots played well and they WON! Perfect ending for the homecoming week. We had to leave the game a little early so Bailey could get ready for the dance. I know she does not look 14!
And this is her in the pretty dress we bought her. She did not have a "date" but she did have fun and has MANY friends. I think they must have been jealous about how BEAUTIFUL she looks in this dress. The dance ended at 11:30 and we got there early to pick her up. Well we should have came late because by the time her and her friends came out it was 11:45. Oh well at least she had fun.

HOMECOMING!!!!!

Taylor has been working hard at football practice. Tuesday night the teams hard work paid off. THEY WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week at Bailey's highschool it was homecoming. They had different dress up days. I didn't exactly remember to take pictures of those days. Friday the 3rd was the parade, game, and dance. This first picture is the start of the parade. Bailey is in a ROTC class but she wasn't with this group in the parade. Maybe next time though.
Here is Bailey with the dance team. Not a creative float but hey they have been working hard practicing dances.
Colton got to go with me to the parade. The highschool kids must have thought he was cute cause this hoodie pocket was awful FULL!

A New Addition!

Well we have been thinking about it for quite sometime now. Finally we decided to just do it. The news with all the financial crisis in America did not influence us at all. It will save us money. In fact our insurance is less because of it.















HAH! Had you goin didn't we? You thought we were going to have a baby didn't you? Silly people...that is too much work.

Johnny's Birthday

Johnny had his 29th birthday on friday the 19th. Today they invited us over for lunch. Johnny grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. Misty made macaroni and potato salad. It was pretty good. The best part we didn't have to cook. Johnny doesn't like cake very much so we had ice cream sandwiches. Yummy! Misty, Tianna, Becca and Stephanie getting their food.
After lunch Becca did Stephanies hair. Don't they look just darling.

OK! I COULDN'T WAIT TILL TOMORROW. AS IF EVERYONE DIDN'T KNOW, IT WAS MR NAUGHTY (LIITLE CONVICT IF YOU ASK GRANDMA BLANCHE) WHO PLAYTED WITH MY CAMERA. AT LEAST HE TOOK A SEMI CUTE PICTURE.

It was a first for us this weekend. Bailey had alot of fun though. I am not sure who took the pictures for her. I believe it was someone from the Belle Fourche teams. The 2 schools shared a charter bus to Brookings. Well since it seems to be sunday morning I am going to bed. Tomorrow I will show you who messed with MY new camera. In case you were wondering Baileys camera does not have the correct date set.Till later, GOODNIGHT!

Pierre

Here we are helping Grandma Blanche escape boredom. Look at Grandmas new RED CADILLAC. Pretty fancy little cart huh?

Aunt Suzy telling us all directions to somewhere. I don't remember what we were talking about. It was a nice visit for us. With Suzy's help we took Grandma to Pizza Ranch for supper. That was nice and seemed a little more like "normal". It will take us all time to adjust to Grandma's new home. After supper we took Grandma back and then went and visited at Aunt Suzy and Uncle Dennis house. Poor Uncle Dennis wasn't feeling real great and then Avery wanted ALL his attention. They got along pretty good.

Dang Deer

Tuesday evening I was driving over to Rita's and this is what I HIT!!!! Fortunately for the van and me we are ok. The van needs a new grill I need nothing. The deer however.......well you get the picture. I have never hit a deer before so I did not know what to do. I did pull the van to the side of the road and called the cops. I got out of the van to check on damage (very little) and looked in the other lane of traffic. That darn deer was in the median LOOKING at me! I thought it might be angry so I got back in the van so it couldn't come eat me. Every time a car passed that dumb thing looked up. The cop finally got there and "took care of the deer" and then proceeded to drag it to the ditch. I got out of the van to get in the officers car and guess what? The dang deer looked up at me. I got the paperwork I needed and left and by the time I left the deer quit looking at me.

More pictures of nicer things tomorrow. I don't have the memory card reader with me at work. Besides the "boss" might get mad if I don't get anything else done here.

Labor Day Weekend

Well the weather here today was a cool 95 or something like that. We got up this morning and cleaned house. This afternoon Paul and Alice came over and we grilled burgers and dogs. We also got to have Armadillos ice cream and strawberry shortcake.
After we were done eating Avery got into a little trouble. He had to stand on the wall, (all our corners have something in them). He got pretty mad and said it was Bailey and Becca's fault for teaching him to be naughty. He then got mad and ran away. He made it to the end of the driveway and sat there. He hoped his Uncle Johnny would pick him up. He came back inside and had dessert and seems fine now.
Sunday we are driving to Pierre to visit Grandma Blanche. She got moved into the nursing home friday. If you need her address e-mail me and I will get it to her. She does like getting mail. We will also visit Aunt Suzy and Uncle Dennis. After all our visiting is done we plan on coming home. The dogs will be expecting us.
Monday is going to be laundry and grocery shopping day. These kids think they need to eat.......Oh well. Have a good rest of the weekend.

Background Change

I get bored easily and had to find a new background. Now I should probably get to work before I seriously get yelled at. Last night Taylor had his 1st football practice. He really likes football and the conditioning is good for him. No pictures today, maybe later but not now.

Backdrop

One last thing. The reason for the backdrop is it is REALLY warm in our house today.

$6000 Dollars

$6000 dollars.......................

This is what Dan and I spent $6000 dollars on last week. Bailey hasn't eaten much since then. In 2 years her teeth should be perfect. Rebecca gets hers in February. The boys in a few years. We also made a small investment in contacts for the girls. It will really save us money once sports start. No more replacing glasses. I might have really covered everything from last week. Keep checking I will try and update daily or pretty darn close anyways.

Friday Nights

This is where you will find our family EVERY friday night. Rebecca is working in the main concession stand. When we first started they said they didn't want 13 year olds running a register, well Rebecca is one of the best cashiers they have. Dan helps where he can or he is in the Pits taking pictures like the one above. Bailey and I have a little "box" we work out of in the pits. I grill the burgers and dogs and Bailey sells them. Taylor and Avery sit in the stands. We usually make it home by 1:00 am. It has been good work experience for the girls. Dans very first job was at Black Hills Speedway. Bailey and Rebeccas very first jobs also Black Hills Speedway.

A Few Prayer Requests

There are SO many people who are ill or need prayers.
The first one i have is for Baileys best friend Kaley's brother. Dustin is a Blackhawk helicopter pilot who is currently on his way to Washington DC from Kosovo. He has something wrong with his heart now. This was just discovered last week.
The next request is for Cooper. Cooper is my Aunt Suzy and Uncle Dennis' nephew. Cooper lives in Pierre. Him and his mom and dad are in Chicago for Cooper to have a shunt put in for his liver. Cooper is pretty little and the surgery is pretty serious.
Please continue Prayers for my Grandma Blanche. She is still in the TCU unit in St Marys hospital in Pierre. She is just waiting for a bed to open up.

The Week In Review

The week was really busy for us. The kids had MEGA PASSES for the fair. We spent monday, tuesday, and wednesday evenings at the fair watching them ride rides.
Tuesday afternoon Taylor and Avery got to meet their teachers. Taylor is now a 5th grader in Mr. Olesons class. Avery is a 1st grader in Mrs. Utters class. We also walked down the kindergarten hall to meet Bradens teacher. This aunty just had to be sure who was going to be teaching her nephew.
Tuesday evening Bailey sang in the Black Hills Idol contest. We of course thought she did EXCELLENT! However those deaf judges must have felt otherwise. She didn't make it to the finals.
Wednesday morning Bailey and I got up and went to the orthodontist. Bailey now has the most expensive mouth in our house. She will wear braces for about 2 years. She is finally able to eat a little bit.
Thursday morning we got up real early for ..........THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Biggest news from this day is Bailey started highschool. OMG Dan and I must be getting old. Rebecca started 8th grade. Eight grade for her means 9th grade algebra. A neat little tid bit is her algebra teacher was also her 6th grade teacher. Bailey had the same deal but with a different teacher. The boys had a good first day of school too.
Well that is all the excitement of our week. I will post some pictures later in the week.
